For nearly ten years, we have offered a variety of topics using the investigative approach in science and technology, in the region of Quebec. Many schools use it from preschool through to grade 6. Ten school boards have already implemented this science education project which not only conforms to the QEP expectations, but also respects the Progression of Learning. Building on this success, a new generation of learning situations for secondary schools will be offered in January 2013.

This approach promotes the development of the science and technology program competencies through practical, accessible reassuring means for teachers. Students engaged in this learning process are highly motivated. Through experimentation, observation, inquiry and debate, students structure and refine their understanding of scientific and technological phenomena that surround them.
